NUC Sports 7v7 Tournaments
General Information:
All Players Should Have A Mouthpiece
Get To Your Game a Minimum of 30 Minutes Before to Check In
All Coaches Are Expected To Conduct Themselves Properly At All Times, If You Cannot You Will Be Removed From The Tournament and Team Will Be Disqualified
Please make sure area is cleaned up after each game and you take all your stuff with you. If your team is not playing you must clear the area, you cannot be on the field of play.
you may have up to 1 offensive coach in the huddle or helping the kids with signals.
For defense no coaches are allowed on the field.
Medals will be awarded to kids on first and second place teams from each tourney
Rules 7v7
Each team is in pool play 3 games round robin and then right into single elimination tourney
Top 8 Teams Make Tournament in All Age Groups
Tie-breaker for seeding is total point scored
If a team does not show for their game it is an automatic forfeit with
a 7-0 victory
No running the ball and no blitzing
All normal football alignments apply
7-on-7 Football Rules
1. Field Dimensions:
a. Field Length - 40 yards long
b. Field Width - 160 feet or 53.333 yards
c. End Zone - 10 yards deep
2. Starting the Game:
a. All games begin and end on the designated time-keeper’s
instructions. He will also announce the time remaining at the 10, 5
and 2 minute mark.
b. Games are 20 minutes long depending on tourney. No time-outs.
Running clock. In the event of an injury the game clock will continue
unless the medical staff determines that the injury is serious enough
to stop the clock (i.e. the player cannot leave the field on his own).
Referee reserves the right at his discretion to stop the clock, if he needs a timeout or if he feels stoppage is necessary for teams to get aligned or organized
c. Play Clock is 25 seconds
3. General Rules/Moving the Ball:
a. Offense has three downs to make a first down (25 yard line,10 yard
line), Then from the 10 Yard Line, You have 4 downs to score.
b. Quarterback has 4 seconds to throw the ball (counted by the referee).
A snapper must snap the ball, he is not eligible to run route
c. No running plays, including the QB.
d. Only five receivers are eligible.
e. A sack equals a loss of down. Restart at the original line of scrimmage.
f. On an interception or fumble, the ball is dead on the spot.
g. Change of possession restarts the new offense at the 40-yard-line.
h. The ball is dead when the ball carrier is touched with one hand
below the shoulders. (No other contact is permitted.)
j. Defense must yield to the Offense. Avoid contact! Absolutely No Tackling Permitted.
k. You may bump/jam receiver with hands once within 5 yards of line of scrimmage but not once ball is in the air.No continuous bumping/jamming of receivers is allowed. No blocking permitted.
l. The defense may have only 7 defenders in coverage.
4. Offensive Penalties = Loss of Down
a. Pass interference
b. Deliberate blocking
c. Off-sides / Illegal motion
5. Defensive Penalties = 5 yards & Repeat Down
a. Off-sides
b. Illegal contact / holding
c. Pass interference (Ball goes to next first down mark team is awarded first down, if inside 10 yard line auto first down and ball is placed at half the distance from goaline)
8. Behavior Issues and Penalties
If a player gets an unsportsmanlike penalty on defense then the player will be warned and the ball will be placed at next first down mark and awarded first down, if inside 10 yard line auto first down and ball is placed half the distance from goaline
If a player gets an unsportsmanlike penalty on offense then the player will be warned, and team will lose a down
If a player gets an unsportsmanlike penalty on sideline or coaching staff gets a penalty, if the team is on defense the coach will be warned and the ball will be placed at next first down mark and awarded first down, if inside 10 yard line auto first down and ball is placed half the distance from goaline
If a player gets an unsportsmanlike penalty on sideline or coaching staff gets a penalty, if the team is on offense the coach will be warned and they will lose a down
No large speakers blaring on the sideline during games.
If a team takes any action that delays the game. I.E. Mock shooting a ball out of the air, punting a ball, or throwing a ball out of the area of play, etc., will result in a loss of down if on offense, if on defense, it will be an automatic first down for the opponent. If happens inside the 10 yard line, then the ball will be moved half the distance to the goalline and first down.
ANY SECOND UNSPORTSMANLIKE PENALTY FROM A PLAYER AND THEY WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE GAME
ANY SECOND UNSPORTSMANLIKE PENALTY FROM THE COACH OR SIDELINE WILL RESULT IN FORFEIT OF THE GAME.
7. Scoring:
a. 6 points are awarded for each touchdown.
b. PAT: From 5 =1 Point or From 10 = 2 Points.
c. 3 points are awarded for an interception and team gets the ball
8. Tie-Breaker:
a. Each team will get one chance to get the ball from the 40 yard line, the team that gains the most yards on their possession wins. If there is an incompletion by both teams, they both take possession again. If there is an interception, the team that intercepts the ball wins the game.
