4th Annual Proway West Coast Shoot Out Passing Tournament – Rules

Greetings Coaches! Welcome to the 4th Annual Proway West Coast Shoot Out Passing Tournament, thank you for the attendance of your team. There will be (1) twenty yard zone and (2) ten yard zones. Games will be played back to back with each offense starting at the designated start point. Each game will be 25 minutes long (running clock). When time expires, the game is over! The 13u and lower offense will have (3) three downs to get twenty yards or a first down. The ball will be spotted where it is blown dead and the offense will have (3) three for a first down and (3) downs to score once inside 10 yards. Touchdowns are worth (6) six points and your team will have the opportunity to go for a (1) point conversion from 5 yards out or a (2) point conversion from (10) yards out, this will help to eliminate ties. The other way to score is an interception, it will be worth (2) two points and (6) points for a returned interception to the designated starting point. Consequently, Any interception on an extra point attempt may not be returned and has no value. Other important rules are as follows.
All high school football rules will be enforced with the addition of the following:
1. Players are down after one-hand touch. *Tackling will garner a 15 yard penalty, Second time, player is removed from Tournament. Coaches control your players!!
2. No blocking allowed - five yard penalty from spot of the block.
3. 3.59 seconds to throw the ball. (4.00 and longer will be considered a sack, loss of down and five yard penalty). Also, QBs must drop at least 3yds or be in shotgun.
4. Interceptions will be awarded at all times (only exception is unsportsman like penalties against the defense or pass interference). 2 points for an interception and 6 points for a returned touchdown to the designated starting point.
5. All penalties are five yards and a loss of down (so, try not to commit any penalties).
6. Pass interference is an automatic first down (the nearest first down cone). In the red zone, an automatic first down will be awarded with no advancing of the ball…
7. Each team will be allowed one blitz per game.
8. Teams will be awarded (3) points for defensive stops on downs.
9. Empty backfields are OK…
10. Every team MUST wear head protective gear while on the playing field, NO EXCEPTION!!!
11. Sportsmanship is a mandated requirement, players can be asked to leave at the referees discretion for conduct deemed detrimental to the game/ tournament.
12. Fighting will result in the team or player being immediately ejected.
13. Overtime Rules: In the event of a tie the overtime rules will consist of longest yard. Each team will get a possession and the longest yardage will be declared the winner.
14. In the event of tie records during seeding. The higher seed will be decided by point differential.
* Field assignments will be provided upon arrival at your site.
** If anything occurs that has not been addressed, it is my sincere hope that the coaches involved will discuss the situation in a respectful manner and reach an amicable resolution
*** Coaches meeting TBD to discuss passing particulars of the day.
**** We will have vendors on site with team cleats, gloves, spirit packs, and uniforms.
**** GameBreaker Helmets will be on site to rent helmets for those teams that do not possess their own.
***** There will be food and beverages available for purchase on site.
