Basketball League  -  August 10 to September 28, 2024

1. FIELD LENGTH:
A. 50 total yards (40 yards with a 10 yard end zone).

2. TEAM MEMBERS
A. All players must be on the team roster at the start of the tournament.
B. Teams are not required to utilize an offensive center. If utilizing one, the center will be responsible for setting or repositioning the football at the line of scrimmage. If there is no center, the QB will be responsible.

3. STARTING EACH GAME:
A. The designated home team (2nd on schedule) will begin possession of the ball on the +40 yard line with a choice of hash mark. Higher seed in Bracket play.
B. A horn or whistle will begin each game.
C. Each game will last 25 minutes, running time.
D. Game officials will declare when the clock goes under two minutes.
E. The clock will not stop for anything.
F. A horn or whistle will end each game.

4. MOVING THE BALL:
A. Offense always starts on +40 yard line with a choice of hash mark after any change of possession.
B. Offense has three downs to gain a first down. First down markers will be at the +25 and +10 yard lines.
C. Once inside the +10 yard line, the offense has three downs to score a touchdown.
D. For the conversion after a touchdown, the offense can choose to go for 1 or 2 points. A 1 point conversion is from the +5 yard line, and a 2 point conversion is from the +10 yard line. The offense may have a choice of hash mark for ball placement.

E. Defensive players cannot cross the line of scrimmage until the ball is thrown.

F. Offense can use any formation to move the ball with 1 quarterback and 5 eligible receivers. 7th player may only be a center to snap the ball.

G. Quarterback will have 4.0 seconds to throw the ball. QB tees will be used as a timer or game refs.

5. COACHING YOUR TEAM:
A. There will be one offensive coach allowed on the field at any time.
B. The coach must be positioned behind the offensive huddle.
C. Coaches are not allowed to challenge any official ruling.
D. Remaining team coaches can work from the sideline.
E. No defensive coaches are allowed on the field.
F. Each team can have a maximum of 2 coaches and 15 players per roster. Only 2 coaches allowed on field.

6. SPECIAL RULES:
A. No blocking.
B. Blocking will result in a loss of down with the ball returned to the previous spot.
C. Ball carrier is legally down when touched below the neck with one hand. A defender cannot leave his feet to make a tag. Runner will still be able to run if defender's feet are off the ground. Excessive force by shoving, pushing, blatant tackling to the ground, or striking a blow, excessive holding will be penalized by automatic first down and moving the ball to the next first down spot. Players will be expelled if ruled unsportsmanlike & flagrant.
D. Fumbles (including snap) are dead balls at the spot with the last team in control retaining possession at the spot.
E. Each team will have 25 seconds to put the ball into play.
F. The offensive team is responsible for retrieving and returning the ball to the official. The clock does not stop and any delay by the offense in retrieving and returning the ball to the official will result in a delay of game and a loss of down.
G. The coach must report all game play ruling discrepancies to the Field Manager no more than 50 minutes after that game has ended.  Reversal or game changing decisions are not expected but will be made at the Field Manager’s discretion.
H. The tiebreaker used for seeding after pool play will be: Head to Head, Points Allowed, Points Scored, Coin Flip.
I. There will be no overtime during pool play.
J. NO FIGHTING. Anyone who breaks this rule will be disqualified for the tournament.

7. PENALTIES
A. Defensive pass interference is an automatic 1st down. The ball will advance to the next 1st marker.  Defensive holding will not result in an automatic 1st down. Holding will be. 5 yard penalty and repeat the down. If defensive pass interference is committed within the 10 yard line, the ball will advance to the 5 yard line with an automatic 1st down. Inside the 5 yd line the ball will move to the 1 yd line also automatic 1st down. Holding within the 10 yard line, the ball will advance to the 5 yd line and repeat the down. Inside the 5 yd line the ball will move to the 1 yd line and repeat the down.
B. Offensive penalties will result in a return to the previous spot plus a loss of down.
I. Quarterback is allowed 4.0 seconds to throw the ball. Game officials will stop the play if 4.0 seconds is surpassed.
C. An interception is a change of possession with the intercepting team gaining possession at the +40 yard line. For player safety interceptions will not be ran back. Interception will be 3 points for the defense team.



8. CHAMPIONSHIP
A. During championship, if games end in tie there will be a longest play tie breaker.
